I mention this feature often and I have used it a lot in many of my websites. I’m talking about the Exit Inent option in the Optinmonster plugin. Here it is if you want to check it out.
You know last time you walked into a major store, perhaps you’re the home design and home improvement kind of person and you visit somewhere like your local hardware store.
If they’re smart, they have some signs with special offers as you near the cashiers and as you exit.
Special Sale, get 50% Off when you buy 2!
Spring Cleaning sale, buy 3, get 1 free!
You know what I’m talking about. The impulse can’t-let-them-pass-by offers.
Well, guess what? Those make a ton of money for the store. They’re usually very high profit items and very attractive.
Special Offers Before They Leave Your Site
So what if you could do that on your WordPress website? When people are about to leave your page, you can present them with an irresistible offer. Just like the ones you see at the store.
Maybe and hopefully with a nicer design. But you know what I mean.
Well Optinmonster does that for us in WordPress and like I’ve said before, one of our goals at Real Free Website is to make your entire website work without having to edit any PHP or HTML code. I think so far I’ve done a pretty good job.
Optinmonster is no different. You don’t need to know any fancy JavaScript, or html, or other code. If you are into that stuff, then you can still get your hands dirty with Optinmonster and customize it even further, but for the rest of us, we can do everything we need just using the menus and options in Optinmonster.
So check it out, Here’s exactly what the plugin does and why I love it, I show you in a short video.
Then Why do You Actually want this?
Because it increases your opt in rates, tremendously. It can do it up to 400% of what you have now if you’re not already using it. I’ve gained 30% – 100% increased optin rates on my pages. I’ve heard of 600% or more in a few cases, but since I haven’t actually seen those numbers myself I can’t tell you that’s what you’re going to get.
And because it is super easy to use and easy to use for other type of sign-up boxes. Optinmonster has options to used on your sidebar, at the bottom of a post, as a footer bar, or as a slide-in bar that shows in when someone scrolls down the page. Make sure when you buy it, you look at the options available. I have the Ultimate version.
I would recommend that because it has the best of both worlds, one time pricing, and all the features you need. Anytime I can get away from paying a yearly fee AND get lifetime support and access, I think it’s a good deal.Wouldn’t you agree?
Next, more options (as if that wasn’t enough!)
Now, this is a little more in-depth and explains other options available in the plugin. Like the slide-in optin box and I walk you through setting one of these up from scratch.
This video is a bit longer, but I show you how to set up a slide-in Optinmonster opt in box. Easy to set up and have up and running in just a few minutes. The video of course is longer so I explain and also show you how to install the different options available with Optinmonster.
By the way, if you like this tutorial, may I remind you I have a lot more available for you to sharpen up your website skills and truly make it your own. Visit other tutorials here. A beautiful and well designed website could turn into a nice little gold mine!
Optinmonster also has options to work with most major email service providers. I prefer aweber because they host my email list and offer a $1.00 start up price that can’t be beat. But if you use Constant Contact, Mailchimp, and many others, it also works well with those.
Also, in case you didn’t see this before, this is an interview of Syed Balkhi, the maker of the plugin. We had lunch and decided to ask him a few questions about his motives and future of Optinmonster. Keep in mind, lots of the stuff he mentions is already part of the plugin, this interview was over 5 months ago!
